She's a 4-year-old brindle pit bull with a heart bigger than most people you'll meet. Ava lives in a shelter in Lewis County, NY--but yesterday, she left that shelter for something extraordinary: she gave blood to save another dog's life, my Alana <br/>Her blood helped Alana survive emergency surgery. She laid there, calm and brave, trusting strangers, just to give another dog a chance at life.
