Ava is Up For Adoption here at Shiba Rescue of New Jersey.<br/>MEET AVA!<br/>Ava is a beautiful 5 year old Shiba Girl who is finally learning something she should have known her entire life...what it feels like to be loved. <br/>For the first 5 years of her life, Ava lived in a puppy mill in Kentucky, where she was used solely for breeding.<br/>After being rescued, Ava was welcomed into an incredible foster home where she has slowly begun discovering what it means to feel safe, comfortable and cared for.<br/>And despite everything she's been through, there isn't an aggressive bone in her body.<br/>Ava accepts affection from everyone she meets, but she's still working on finding the courage to ask for it herself. <br/>That's what makes earning her trust so special. <br/>When Ava finally chooses to lie beside you or lets that affectionate side peek through, you know you've earned something incredibly meaningful.<br/>Ava also loves being around other dogs and has no problem sharing her space with dogs both smaller and bigger than she is.<br/>In fact, her current best friend is Haven, a female Boxer who has become a wonderful companion for her.<br/>Being around other dogs seems to bring out another side of Ava.<br/>Her ears perk up , her tail starts wagging, and you get a glimpse of the happy, social dog that's been waiting to come out.<br/>Ava loves relaxing in the sunshine, watching the world go by through the glass front door, and seeing other dogs.<br/>She'll stand by the door when she needs to go outside.<br/>She loves the comfort and security of her crate.<br/>And Ava will even "talk" to you in the morning when she's ready for breakfast. <br/>Ava doesn't need someone to rush her.<br/>She needs someone willing to give her the time to discover that she's finally safe.<br/>For 5 years, Ava was valued for the puppies she could produce.<br/>Now it's her turn to be valued simply for being Ava.<br/>There is something incredibly rewarding about earning the love of a dog who is learning how to trust the world for the very first time.<br/>Ava's next chapter is waiting.<br/>Ava is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.<br/>A home with a completely secured fenced in yard is needed for Ava since she still needs to continue to learn how to walk on a leash.<br/>If you have the time, patience and love in your heart for Ava, I promise you that you'll be getting one exceptional Shiba Girl who will love you tenfold.<br/>If you are interested in adopting Ava please go to www.shibarescuenj.org and fill out an Adoption Application.
