Ava's Story

Ava is a sweet dog with a heart that truly belongs to people. She loves human companionship and thrives on gentle attention, kind words, and being near those she trusts. With humans, Ava is affectionate, loyal, and eager to connect. When it comes to other dogs, Ava is still finding her confidence. She does okay around them, but she's a bit unsure and prefers calm, respectful interactions.

This scruffalicious little girl is about 5 months old and full of baby sweetness. She's gentle, charming and affectionate, and just wants to be held and loved - it hasn't always been that way. Until her rescue angel saved her, she lived in a backyard and was filthy and afraid of everything, including human touch. No love, no care, no attention, and with severe eye infections, she could barely see. That terrible old life is behind her now, and a beautiful new life as a loved companion awaits. Ava may have some Poodle, Yorkie, Shih Tzu, or who knows what in her mix. We expect her to mature around 12-18 pounds. We are working with her on potty and leash training. She sleeps in her cozy crate bed in her crate at night.

Ava would do best with a patient, understanding home that can help her feel safe and comfortable at her own pace. With time, consistency, and reassurance, she has the potential to grow more relaxed and confident. Ava will be available after spay and medical clearance.

Applications at:

http://dogwoodanimalrescue.org/adoption-application-dogs/

You can follow us on social media at:

https://.www.instagram.com/dogwoodanimalrescue/
https://.www.facebook.com/.DogwoodAnimalRescue/

Making a difference, one animal at a time.
