Autumn’s story is a heartbreaking one. She and her brother were dumped as tiny puppies in Hockley and left to survive on their own. They made a home in a cornfield, sadly her brother didn’t make it, and Autumn herself was even shot. With little human kindness shown to her, Autumn grew up feral, wary of people, and surviving the only way she knew how.<br/><br/>But Autumn is a fighter. After being rescued, she has blossomed into a beautiful girl who is slowly learning that not all humans are bad. Toys are her treasure—she keeps a rotating “collection” of favorite bones and plush toys in her crate, proudly switching them out. She’ll happily toss a ball for herself, chase butterflies, or just chew on a favorite toy.<br/><br/>Autumn is still learning how to trust people fully. Some days, she needs gentle encouragement to push past her comfort zone. But she has never once shown aggression, her body language is soft, her spirit is kind, and her willingness to learn makes her a joy to work with.<br/><br/>With time, patience, and consistency, Autumn is ready to keep growing in a forever home of her own.
