Austin's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Austin is a handsome 7.5-year-old husky with a soft, fluffy black-and-white coat and striking blue eyes. He’s incredibly loving and affectionate with his people and truly enjoys human companionship.

Austin is both house trained and leash trained. Like many huskies, he has a strong prey drive, so he’ll need close supervision around small animals. He would do best in a home without cats, birds, or other small pets, and he’ll require a secure 6-foot fence to keep him safe.

Currently, Austin is living in a kennel. While this is a step up from the shelter, it’s still a stressful environment—surrounded by many other dogs with limited time to play and relax in a yard. Austin would thrive with more freedom, regular exercise, and the comfort of a home.

Austin was found running loose in Taos after having been adopted from us many years ago. He returned to the rescue in 2023 and has been waiting patiently at the kennel ever since. He’s ready for a true forever home—one with plenty of playtime, love, and a family he can finally call his own.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion, Austin may be the perfect fit.
