Aurora's Story

Meet Aurora!
Aurora is a 3 year old siberian husky. She’s a sweet girl who loves to be loved & loves to play! Aurora was a stray in California & spent a few months in a shelter there before being transported to Minnesota. Though she starts off timid & shy, after she gets comfortable she will want to be wherever you are. She picks up on commands quickly & loves to be pet, even when she’s still in the anxious stage & hasn’t gained trust yet. The more love you give her, the more she’ll open up & you’ll see her goofy personality. She is mostly cat-friendly, though she may get a little territorial over her people & her food & chase them away. Speaking of chase- it’s her favorite game! She loves to zoom around the yard & dodge you. Chew toys are a must for her, especially plush-style ones. She loves her crate but has broken out of it once, but when her fosters are at work she’s allowed to free roam the house & does pretty well. She’ll make you laugh with her silly antics, which include chasing bugs, as well as her throwing a ball & chasing/pouncing on it all on her own, no human required. She loves walks once she gains trust. She has a tendency to pull when she’s more anxious but gets better with each walk as everything becomes more & more familiar. She has a couple basic commands down (sit, lay down) & once comfortable, will almost always come when you call her. You may encounter some classic husky stubbornness but she’s not TOO independently-minded for the average dog parent.

All in all, this girl wants all the pets and cuddles and will be happiest in a home with someone who will give her these things, as well as good exercise.

*We only adopt and foster our animals within a 100 mile radius from New Brighton, MN*

All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment. You can contact us through our website at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/contact/ or visit our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LegendsRescue/ if you have further questions or would like to schedule a meet and greet.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/adopt/forms/

FOSTER CARE:
Our rescues are fostered in individual homes or at our facility. We work hard to ensure that our rescues have a supportive family while at foster homes to help them move forward and get ready for their forever home. We work on training, crate-training and socialization before a dog is adopted out. Foster homes are extremely important to the success of the cat at their forever home, and it is extremely rewarding to be able to watch the cats growth as you help them on their journey to their happy ending. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please fill out our application at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/adopt/foster-application/

YOU CAN HELP:

If you’re not able to foster or adopt right now, please consider sponsoring a Legend. Your donation will help with our care and pay for medical costs. Visit this link http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/donate/ to donate.
