Audra's Story

Meet Audra “Audi” 💕 — Momma’s Ready for Her Happily Ever After!
After spending her time being the very best momma to her puppies, Audra — affectionately known as Audi — is officially ready to put motherhood behind her and start the next, very special chapter of her life. And what Audi wants most? A forever family who will give her the time, patience, love, and security she deserves.

Audi is a calm, gentle, affectionate, and friendly girl who has a wonderfully sweet nature. Her foster family’s favourite thing about her is her calmness. She isn’t looking to be the centre of attention or keep you constantly entertained — Audi is perfectly happy simply being near her people, following them around the house and soaking up some well-deserved pets.

After the busy job of raising her puppies, Audi is ready to discover what it’s like to be someone's cherished companion. ❤️

A Girl Who Loves Her People
Audi is a lovely, easygoing companion who enjoys being close to her humans. She'll happily follow you around and is always interested in a little affection. She's the kind of dog who seems to appreciate the simple things — being near her people, getting some attention, and knowing she's safe and loved.

She's also fully housetrained, making her transition into her forever home that much easier.

Audi is still learning about crate life. She will use her crate when needed, but she's not quite at the point where she'd choose to hang out there for fun. Her foster family is continuing to help her build positive associations with it.

Calm Is Her Superpower
Audi's ideal home is calm, quiet, and predictable. She doesn't need a family who is constantly on the go. In fact, she'd probably prefer a peaceful home where she can settle in, relax, and enjoy being part of the family.

She's not particularly interested in playing, so if you're looking for a dog who needs hours of fetch or nonstop entertainment, Audi may not be your girl. But if your idea of a perfect dog is a gentle companion who is happy to hang out beside you, Audi could be an absolutely wonderful match.

She has also shown a little talent for counter surfing, so her new family will want to keep tempting snacks safely out of reach while she learns the household rules. 😉

What About Other Dogs?
Audi has had limited interaction with other dogs and has gone on walks with two different dogs. She does not require another dog in her forever home, although having a calm, compatible canine companion could certainly be a nice bonus.

One thing her adopters should know is that Audi can be reactive toward other dogs while on leash. Her family will need to be patient and continue helping her learn that seeing another dog doesn't have to be a big event.

Her Forever Home
Audi would do well with someone who appreciates a gentle, lower-key companion and understands that settling into a new home takes time.

A fenced yard is recommended for Audi, and she could also be suitable for apartment or attached-home living, provided her exercise, training, and management needs are met.

She's currently been left alone for a couple of hours at a time and, so far, she's doing well. Her foster family is continuing to learn what she's comfortable with as she settles into her new life outside of motherhood.

The Most Important Thing About Audi ❤️
She loves her people!

Audi has spent a huge part of her life focused on being a mom. Now it's her turn. She deserves the opportunity to decompress, learn what being a beloved family dog feels like, and discover all the wonderful little things that come with having a forever home.

She doesn't need perfection. She needs patience, consistency, kindness, and someone willing to let her blossom at her own pace.

Audi is a good dog — and with time, understanding, and a family of her very own, we think she's going to be an extraordinary companion.

Her puppies have had their chance to grow up and find their families. Now it's Momma Audi's turn. 🐾💗

Could you be the family who finally gets to show this sweet girl just how wonderful life can be?

It Takes A Village Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
Hopeful adopters must fill out an adoption application. All applications are screened and potential matches are contacted. Follow up questions are emailed. A phone call is set up to clarify any questions about the adoption process. At that point the fosters are provided the contact information for the potential adopters. They set up a meet and greet at the fosters home. During the meet the foster will tell the potential adopter the good, the bad. and the ugly about the dog... we want total transparency in order to have an open and successful adoption. After the meet we ask the fosters and the adopters their thoughts. If the adopter would like to proceed, their references are checked and a virtual home visit is conducted. If the adoptable dog has any sort of behavioural or medical issues a plan to address the issue would be required before adoption could proceed. If all is good then the adoption contract is sent out to be signed and returned along with the adoption fee. The foster is given the green light to arrange pick up.
