Audie's Story

Audie is handsome hound mix puppy about 9-10 months old, 40-45lbs. Like any puppy, Audie loves to play with other pups and get love from his foster mom.

Audie is still gaining confidence after being surrendered to a kill shelter, but he is getting better every day. We believe Audie’s best family match would be one that wants to give him a lot of love and acknowledgement. One that can be dedicated to growing his confidence with positive reinforcement, rewards and training.

Audie is a follower, not a leader, and while not alone often, we believe he could come around to being an only dog with a family that has plenty of time to share with him, but as a follower, he may come around faster in a home with a dog he can learn from.

Audie is house trained with a doggy door and crate trained. Audie has lived with cats, but not in close quarters so we are not 100% sure he is good with cats, but he has always been gentle with other dogs so we assume he would be okay with dog savvy cats.

Audie’s mother was a blue tick hound, so we know he is part hound. He is neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on vaccinations.

If interested in Audie or any of the HERO Hounds, please apply at HeroHounds.org/adopt

More Photos coming soon!
