Aubrey's Story
Meet Aubrey! Aubrey is a 6(ish) year old Boston Terrier who is still trying to figure out the world.<br/><br/>She is sweet, sensitive, and very easily stressed, but underneath that uncertainty is a little dog who wants to feel safe and loved. <br/><br/> <br/><br/>Aubrey will need:<br/><br/> A quiet, patient home<br/><br/> Someone who understands that trust takes time<br/><br/> A human who won't give up on her<br/><br/> Patience, stability, and understanding.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>She's working on her potty-training, she's come a long way while in rescue. <br/><br/>She is kennel-trained.<br/><br/>She tolerates walking on a leash while in a harness.<br/><br/>She may run if scared, so a secure home is a must.<br/><br/>She's not a velcro cuddle bug—but she'll choose to lay near you, and those quiet moments? That's her way of saying “I feel safe with you”. <br/><br/> <br/><br/> Aubrey's needs:<br/><br/><br/> No cats (high prey drive)<br/> Best as an only dog or with calm, non-assertive dogs<br/> Can be reactive with similar energy dogs (Terriers/Bully types)<br/> On a prescription I/D diet due to GI sensitivity<br/> Older kids (10+) or adult-only home<br/><br/><br/> <br/><br/> Ideal home:<br/><br/>Someone who is retired, works from home or is home often, lives a quieter lifestyle, and understands that the best kind of love is earned slowly.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Aubrey isn't for everyone... but she will be everything to someone! <br/><br/> <br/><br/>TO ADOPT AUBREY:<br/><br/>If you'd like to adopt, please take the first step by completing our Adoption Application! https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24218/generic. KPAL Rescue dogs are vetted (spayed/neutered, age-appropriately vaccinated for Distemper/Parvo, Rabies if old enough, microchipped, etc.). There will be an adoption fee of $350 + tax so that we can continue to help other animals in need. KPAL Rescue is a non-profit animal rescue based in Kenai/Soldotna, AK. Adopters should be willing to travel here to adopt as we do not allow for third party transportation. As a foster-based organization, we do not have a kennel facility you can visit.
