If you choose not to answer all the questions in the application, your application will not be considered. We will review your application & email you if you made our short list of applicants for him. Please respond within 24 hours if you receive an email from us about making our short list.

*You can check the status of his adoption at https://www.idogrescue.com/adopt or any of our social media pages. We will change his status to adopted when he is adopted.

*We base our adoption decisions on what is in the best interest of our dogs. Please note our adoption policies are in place for the safety & welfare of our dogs. We are all volunteers & have jobs, families, pets of our own to care for. We do the best that we can to get back to you in a timely manner. We believe in taking time to go through our thorough process to try to match the dog with the best fit for that dog.

*You must be approved to adopt him before we will schedule a meet & greet. We do not transport our dogs.

*AGE: 8 months old (born July 2025)

*WEIGHT: 35 lbs. He still has some time to grow and could reach 50 lbs.

*FENCE REQUIREMENT: A physical fence and yard are required as we feel this would help set him up for success. No electronic/invisible fences, or e-collars will be allowed.

*COAT TYPE: Atlas has a beautiful tri-color tight curly low-shedding coat. He has Poodle hair on his head/ears and feet. Those areas are more prone to knots and matting if not properly cared for. He will need regular brushing and grooming. His coat was matted in some areas upon intake. Once groomed his tricolored coat is beautiful. You should be prepared to have him groomed regularly (every 8-10 weeks) with an estimated cost of $120/groom.

*ENERGY LEVEL: High happy energy! This guy always seems to be moving which means he might even be "under foot" at times… Atlas gets very excited to meet new people and animal friends! He would ideally like 30-60 minutes of walking a day or taken to a dog park or dog daycare which he has been currently doing for exercise.

*DOGS: Great! Atlas would do well with other dogs in the home if they are playful (puppy-like energy) and not aggressive. His foster family has two similar sized dogs as Atlas and a Pomeranian and he has done well. He is mouthy when playing and loves to zoom and play ball and tug with the other pups.

*CATS: Atlas’s foster family has 3 dog-like cats and a hamster. He is curious with them but not aggressive and does not chase them.

*KIDS: Yes. Older and/or dog-savvy children would be best as Atlas is full of puppy energy and could knock little children over with his size. He currently lives with 3 teenagers in the foster home and does excellently. Remember he is an active guy!

*CAR: Atlas does great in the car but is nervous when getting into the car. He goes on daily rides but must be coaxed and/or lifted into the car. He will lay in the rear seat and stay put, occasionally sitting up to look out.

*CRATE: Yes! Atlas is crate trained and willingly goes inside for feeding and down time. He has been crated for up to 2 hours at a time with minimal issues and sleeps in his crate at night with soothing music.

*HOUSE TRAINED: Yes! He has had zero issues in his foster home with going outside to do potty. He is currently on a great schedule going outside every 2-3 hours during the day. He has had no accidents in his crate overnight.

*LEASH: great on leash. He does best when he has a toy in his mouth when walking as he will happy bark if he doesn't.

*AT THE VET: Atlas was taken to the vet's office to get his microchip placed and neutered. He was friendly, but did friendly bark until he realized they were his friends. There was minimal anxiety and he was super friendly to everyone. He will jump up on occasion but with correction he sits.

*AT THE GROOMER: While in foster care, Atlas was groomed professionally & was a very good boy!

Amazing Atlas is an 8 month old Goldendoodle who weighs 35 lbs. (he still has some time to grow and could likely reach 50 lbs.). He was surrendered to IDOG by his owner who loved him very much but wasn’t able to provide him with the amount of exercise and activity he needed. Atlas is a happy guy who is very sweet, loving, energetic, nutty and playful! He is a puppy - full of energy and is still working on his manners.

Atlas would do best in a home where his people are very active and understand what it takes to successfully raise a puppy. He loves to be with people and/or his foster dogs but also loves to lay in his bed and chew a nylabone. He needs play time and exercise to burn his energy. Atlas would do great in a home with another playful dog or as an only dog. He wants to be a part of it all! He is like a bulldozer sometimes and other times just loves to snuggle and give kisses.

Atlas didn’t get much training in his former home and needs to work on some manners. He will thrive in a home that would be willing to work on them. He loves playing in the yard and exploring, playing fetch, and snow! He needs good outlets including lots of playtime, daily walks, and positive basic training.

Atlas will thrive with good boundaries and training to help him be the very best boy around! He is in constant motion and lays down and relaxes if his humans do.

Atlas loves to steal a sock from the hamper, jump at the counters to see what is going on, and zooming all over the yard and home. A dog-savvy home would best suit his needs. He loves to chew on toys and likes to have his favorite fox plush in his mouth whenever he can. He likes chewing on nylabones and is not aggressive if you ask for it. Atlas doesn't have anxiety or issues but will bark at new people and/or situations. He loves everyone once he is comfortable. This does not take long especially if you have a treat!

Another dog in his new home is not necessary if Atlas’s people are active and will give him the attention and engagement he needs. He really wants to play with other dogs. He loves human attention and will give lots of kissy and snuggles. If he could play outside all day, he would be the happiest guy around.

We think the ideal type of home for Atlas is:
-active family who will ensure his exercise needs are met -yard and fence to help him burn some energy
-kids 12+ -if there is another dog in the home, a playful dog with puppy energy would be ideal!
-family where someone is home frequently to engage with Atlas or a dog daycare where he can spend time burning his energy.

Adjectives that describe Atlas:
*Friendly
*Curious
*Silly
*Loves Attention
*Energetic
*Playful
*Funny
*Goofy
*Snuggly
*Affectionate

Activities that Atlas enjoys:
-Chew toys
-Squeaky toys
-Tug
-Fetch
-Walking
-Cuddling
-Playing with other dogs

A few ‘needs work’ items for Atlas:
Atlas would thrive in a home with good boundaries and basic training.
-He needs to be able to expel his energy through play, walks, and exercise.

Atlas is neutered, house trained, microchipped, current on core vaccines, dewormer, and heartworm/flea tick preventives. He is heartworm and fecal negative.

ADOPTION FEE: $695 adoption fee

ADOPTION FEE EXPLANATION:
Puppies & highly adoptable dogs have a higher adoption fee to help IDOG cover the vetting & expenses of the other dogs in IDOG whose adoption fees do not cover their expenses. Our expenses are high these days due to increased vetting expenses, board & train costs, medical/health issues & surgery that is needed for some of our dogs. IDOG relies heavily on donations to bridge the gap between our adoption fees & our expenses. Unfortunately, donations are down across the board for all rescues.

TO APPLY FOR ATLAS- PENNSYLVANIA PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: http://www.idogrescue.com
