Atlas's Story
Meet Atlas! He joined us after being saved from euthanasia in a small shelter out of Snowflake, Arizona. Unfortunately, rural shelters do not have the resources for stray dogs long-term and in Atlas’s case, he was looking at being put down simply for space. We are so happy he could join us here in the Valley and get a second chance at finding a forever home!

Atlas settled in well during his adjustment period and integrated nicely into his foster home. He has a calm, sweet demeanor that makes him incredibly easy to love. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs and enjoys the simple things - lounging by the pool, a good squeaky toy, and snuggling up on the bed at night. Add in some belly rubs and a game of fetch and he’s one happy boy! Atlas loves being around people and truly is just a sweet, easygoing dog. If we had to find something negative to say about this boy (which is hard!), it would be that he isn't crate trained and doesn't know any commands. He has a wonderful temperament, but needs someone able to work with him. He grew up in a rough place and clearly never got much attention.

Atlas is looking for an adopter who can continue building on the training his fosters have started. We believe he spent much of his time outdoors prior to joining us. He would do best in a home with at least one other dog - he’s most at ease with a canine companion by his side. His fosters think he's do best with kids 7+, but dog savvy kids a little younger may be ok. He has not been cat tested. Atlas is sure to make one lucky household very happy; he has so much love to give and deserves just as much in return!

https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/
