Meet Atlas, a stunning Bouvier des Flandres -- a rare and incredibly handsome breed. Atlas was part of the large SEAACA rescue pull and was in danger of euthanasia due to a bad case of kennel cough. Now that he's feeling much better, this big, gentle boy is ready to find his forever family. He's about 3 years old and currently around 70 lbs, though male Bouviers often reach 80-120 lbs (it's hard to tell under all that glorious fur!).<br/>Atlas absolutely loves toys -- he'll happily grab a chew toy and relax in the shade or quietly entertain himself in his kennel. He clearly seems like a dog who once had a home: he potties right away when let out, takes treats gently, and sits patiently for toys or attention. When you sit down, he'll rest his big, shaggy head on your lap, asking sweetly for pets.<br/>Because Atlas was recovering when he arrived, he hasn't joined a playgroup yet, but he's calm and non-reactive with other dogs. He walks nicely on a leash and, once fully back to strength, will make an excellent companion for long walks or hikes. Bouviers are known for being calm indoors, active outdoors, and wonderful family dogs. Atlas is truly an amazing boy -- it's hard to believe he was ever at risk.
