Athena's Story
Athena is a 2-year-old, spayed, fully vaccinated chaos gremlin disguised as a very good girl. She firmly believes naps are for the weak and that every moment is the perfect moment for zoomies. Currently enrolled in board-and-train school, Athena is polishing up her manners and learning important life skills like "four paws on the floor" and "maybe don’t launch yourself at people out of excitement." Progress is being made... enthusiasm remains undefeated.

This girl is HIGH energy, HIGH social, and HIGHLY committed to turning every day into an adventure. She loves other dogs, has lived peacefully with cats, and would absolutely thrive with a playful dog buddy or humans dedicated to daycare, hikes, outings, and exhausting her before she invents her own cardio routine.

Apartment life? Absolutely not. Athena needs a yard big enough for her to sprint around like she’s preparing for the Dog Olympics. One lap around the living room simply will not satisfy her athletic ambitions.

The good news? Beneath all the turbo-powered excitement is an incredibly sweet, smart, hilarious dog. She’s house trained, listens well to commands, plays great with other dogs, and has been winning hearts at training. Her trainer says she’s doing wonderfully—still energetic and excitable, but that’s just who she is—and would even prefer to keep holding onto her rather than see her return to the shelter while waiting for the right foster or adopter.

Athena’s dream home is an active family that enjoys laughter, adventures, and occasionally asking, "Why is she running again?" at least 12 times a day.

If you want a calm couch potato, Athena respectfully suggests you keep scrolling. But if you want a goofy, lovable, adventure-ready best friend who will make life infinitely more entertaining, Athena is ready to sprint directly into your heart.

To meet Athena, please email adoptions@humanesocietysav.org or call/text 912-429-1042.
