Athena (A143152) is an 8-month-old chocolate lab who weighed almost 30 lbs at intake! 08/22/26 This crazy little girl is Athena! Athena was surrendered to the shelter due to a move. If you are looking for an energetic adventure buddy, this girl has got you in her sights! Miss Athena was said to be kennel trained and housebroken. She was described as being outgoing, friendly, affectionate and sometimes rough when playing. We do not know her history with kiddos or other animals, so please use caution and keep introdcutions slow and controlled to allow for the best possible outcome. Please also keep in mind that a rough play style may not be appreciated by other animals or smaller children. Athena does need some help with her manners, and a basic obedience class with a certified trainer would be a great place to start! Athena has been taught how to sit, but there is a processing delay between her ears and her rump, so it takes her a minute to fully complete the command! In true puppy fashion, she has been known to dig and can be vocal at times. Providing her with plenty of enrichment can help mitigate these behaviors.
