Athena is a 2-year-old Pit mix weighing approximately 53 lbs who is looking for a patient, loving home to call her own. She was found near Lakeshore in Rockwall and, sadly, was never reclaimed. Now she's ready for a fresh start with a family who will give her the time and stability she deserves. Athena is a gentle, sensitive girl who can be a little shy at first in new situations. With patience and kindness, she begins to open up and show her true personality—sweet, affectionate, and eager to be close to her people. She forms strong bonds and will thrive in a home that allows her to build confidence at her own pace. She walks nicely on a leash and, while she may not have had much formal training, she is eager to learn and has great potential with consistency and positive reinforcement. Athena does well with calm, easygoing dogs and would be a good match for a home with a similar doggie companion. She may also do very well as the only dog in the home where she can fully settle in and bond with her person. A meet and greet is recommended for homes with existing pets to ensure a good fit.
