At around 70 pounds, she carries herself like the quiet matriarch of the group — confident, steady, and very comfortable being in charge of her surroundings.<br/><br/>Athena recently spent time in a foster home where she did wonderfully. She lived with another dog and settled in quickly, showing that she enjoys companionship while still maintaining her strong, independent personality.<br/><br/>She has that classic hound mix of traits: social with people, affectionate when she wants attention, and just playful enough to keep things interesting. Athena isn’t shy about who she is — she’s a dog with personality and confidence.<br/><br/>Earlier in life Athena lived outdoors on a chain, but she’s now learning just how nice indoor life can be. Soft beds, regular meals, and people nearby seem to suit her very well.<br/><br/>Athena has successfully completed her heartworm treatment and is currently in the recovery phase, which means activity needs to remain calm and controlled for a little while longer… even if Athena herself might have other opinions about that.<br/><br/>She’s a strong, engaging dog who will do best with people who appreciate a confident hound and enjoy a dog with a little bit of leadership in her personality.<br/><br/>Athena has been spayed-microchipped-current on all vaccines and monthly preventatives-finished Heartworm treatment and has been dewormed.<br/><br/>Athena will be available for adoption once fully vetted.
