Meet Athena, a sweet 33.8 lb girl who is already spayed and ready to find a home to call her own.<br/><br/>She can be a little shy when first meeting new people or adjusting to a new environment, but with patience and kindness, her personality quickly begins to shine. Once she feels comfortable, she becomes incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her people. Belly rubs are one of her favorite things, and she is more than happy to hand out kisses and soak up attention.<br/><br/>Athena has been doing a wonderful job building confidence and learning routines. She walks very well with her handlers, stays attentive to her person, and responds nicely to redirection. She enjoys going out for walks, exploring her surroundings, and taking in everything around her without being reactive. She also has a playful side and absolutely loves chasing tennis balls. Athena enjoys being involved with her people and is happiest when she gets both affection and playtime. In foster care, she has done well around other dogs overall and responds well to guidance and structure.<br/><br/>She is looking for a patient and loving home that will continue helping her feel safe and confident. In return, she will reward her people with loyalty, affection, and plenty of sweet moments.<br/><br/>Athena is currently in foster care outside of the shelter.
