Astro's Story

Meet Astro!
This handsome little guy is ready to find his forever family. Astro is about four months old and currently weighs around 28–30 pounds. While we can’t say for certain how big he’ll be once fully grown, we expect him to stay on the medium side, likely under 50 pounds—but of course, that’s just our best guess.

Without a DNA test, his breed mix is a mystery, though we think he may have some Jack Russell, Lab, and possibly even a touch of bully breed in him. Whatever the mix, one thing is certain—Astro’s charm and cuteness are undeniable.

Astro and his sister, Allie, were found as strays and have been growing up in the care of one of our amazing rescue partners in Texas. Thanks to foster care, he’s been given the chance to learn what it means to be part of a loving home. Like many young pups, his personality is still coming into its own, but he’s already shown himself to be curious, playful, affectionate, and eager to learn. With patience, structure, and training, he’ll blossom into a loyal and devoted companion.

He’s doing well with potty training (though accidents may still happen during the transition to a new home) and has had some early introductions to leash walking and basic obedience. He’s smart and treat-motivated, which makes training fun for both him and his people. Astro enjoys the company of other dogs and has done well with children, though slow, supervised introductions are always recommended. With his balanced energy level, he’s just as happy romping around outside as he is snuggling up at the end of the day.

Health:
Astro is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and on monthly preventatives. He’s still too young for heartworm testing but is otherwise healthy and ready to go.

Transport Information:
All of our dogs, including Astro, are located in Texas and will be transported once adopted. Transport is included in the adoption fee. While breed guesses are our best estimates, we encourage adopters to focus on his personality and fit for their lifestyle rather than the label.

MA License #479
