My name is Astro. I’m a little mixed dog. Your basic brown dog......no fancy coat, no beautiful curls, no silky locks. I have crooked and worn teeth with an underbite........although I did have a dental and they are clean. I was left in a shelter with a broken leg. Dachshunds and Friends Rescue rescued me and had my leg repaired.

I’ve been with rescue for a while without any interest from an adopter. I’ve been overshadowed by the Round-up 34 beautiful purebred dachshunds that arrived at the same time I was ready to find my forever home. Needless to say, they all were adopted and I wasn’t. But I’m hoping it is my turn now. I need a family too.

I do well with my foster siblings, love to wrestle with them, love squeaky toys and mostly love walks. I would love a home where I’m kept active as I have lots of energy. I’m in tip top shape.

I need a family with no young children. I’m a little apprehensive when I first meet someone but once I know you are kind I warm up. I need someone to give me a chance at having a new life. I was not potty trained when I first arrived but doing so much better. Just a little more reinforcement and I think I will master potty training. I need a doggie door with a yard where I can take myself out.
