Astrid's Story
Meet Astrid — Your Future Adventure Buddy & Loyal Sidekick!

Astrid (sister to Moose, Ace, and Hiccup) has been an absolute joy in her foster home, and it's easy to see why — this smart, playful girl is the total package

She's crate trained for bedtime and even chooses to nap in her crate during the day (a girl who appreciates her own cozy space ). When it comes to meals... let's just say Astrid is very enthusiastic — she loves her groceries so much she now uses a slow feeder to savor every bite instead of inhaling it!

Astrid is bright, eager to learn, and very responsive to commands, which means training with her will be both fun and rewarding. She's also almost completely potty trained — just needs a little consistency to finish strong!

While she's confident and happy in her home, Astrid can be a bit shy in new environments at first. Give her a little time and patience, and you'll watch her confidence bloom

She truly thrives with other animals:

Loves playing with other dogs

Respectful with cats (especially the ones who want to play!)

Curious but calm around pasture animals

We think she may have some herding breed traits — possibly shepherd — as she loves to “organize” her dog friends during playtime, which is equal parts impressive and adorable

Astrid has already experienced snow and storms — she LOVES the snow and handled her first thunderstorm like a champ, bouncing back quickly even after a loud clap.

She's a people-loving pup who prefers being close to her humans — not quite a lap dog, but always nearby, like your loyal little shadow

Astrid is beginning to show some signs of separation anxiety, so her future family should be ready to help her build confidence and independence with patience and routine.

With the right home, Astrid is going to absolutely thrive and become an incredible lifelong companion.

Adoption Fee: $250

Includes spay, microchip, vaccines, and current vet check

Apply at: newleashdogrescue.com or message us if you're pre-approved!

Loves playing with other dogs
Respectful with cats (especially the ones who want to play!)
Curious but calm around pasture animals
We think she may have some herding breed traits — possibly shepherd — as she loves to “organize” her dog friends during playtime, which is equal parts impressive and adorable
Astrid has already experienced snow and storms — she LOVES the snow and handled her
