Astrid / female / 8 months / Hound/Pointer mix / medium -35lbs / fostered in Keswick, ON<br/><br/>Hello, I am Astrid and I’m just the sweetest puppy looking for my forever pack! <br/><br/>Even though I am a young pup, I haven’t had an easy life, so I am scared of meeting new people. Once I get past that, you’ll be welcoming the most loving member of your family. I am an affectionate, gentle soul with Dobby the house-elf ears. Be prepared to have your heart melted and say “Awwww!” every day.<br/><br/>Aside from being house-trained, I am a good listener and trustworthy enough to be left alone for a couple of hours. Even though like all puppies, I get the urge to chew, I know “no” and will easily be corrected to chew on a stuffie instead. I LOVE toys and the squeaky ones are my absolute favourite.<br/><br/>You could say I am a nature buff and an amateur bird watcher. I could spend all day in the backyard if I could. I still haven’t been leash trained because of my anxiety, so my outdoor experience is limited to the backyard. I hope my new family will help me find the courage to explore the big wild world outside the fence.<br/><br/>My dream is to find my forever family because I am a family gal at heart! I will show love and kindness to my human parents, as well as my human or dog siblings. I’ve gotten along great with kids as young as 6 years old and my two foster dog siblings. I haven’t been tested with cats.<br/><br/>I’m working on my many fears like meeting new people - especially people with hats. I’m also scared of many loud noises - but not fireworks (yes, I am quite enigmatic). My ideal family should be patient with me to gain my trust and continue to work to help me build my confidence.
