Astra's Story

Meet Astra: A Loyal Heart Waiting for Her Forever Home

Every once in a while, a dog comes along who makes you believe in second chances. Astra is one of those dogs. Housebroken, crate trained, spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines

At almost 7 years old, Astra has lived enough life to know what really matters: love, connection, and someone to throw the ball... again and again. This stunning German Shepherd/Husky mix needs to be the only dog in the home. Astra carries the grace of her breeds and the warmth of a heart that just wants to belong. Weighing in at 75 lbs, she's big enough to wrap her paws around you — and gentle enough to win over your heart without even trying.

Astra is everything you could hope for in a companion. She knows all the basics: “sit,” “stay,” “paw,” “down,” and “come.” But beyond her obedience is her spirit — a joyful, playful soul who lights up when a ball is in sight. Her favorite game? Fetch.

She adores people, good with kids and has been cat-tested. Astra was politely indifferent with cats, which in our book, is a win. Astra thrives when she's part of the action, not just a dog in the background. Whether it's a walk in the park, playtime in the yard, belly rubs or curling up after a long day. Astra will do best as an only dog or in a home.

If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who will love you with her whole heart, Astra is your match.
