Asta's Story

Asta is a 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier with a big personality and an even bigger love for people. He's very affectionate and happiest when he's close to his humans-whether he's leaning in for pets, gazing into your eyes, or cuddling up to relax. When he gets excited, he does the cutest little hops that are sure to make you smile. Asta loves to play and be active, but he also enjoys quiet cuddle time. Because of his size and playful energy, he does best with older, school-age children and up.

He is tolerant of cats but may chase them. Asta grew up with another dog and does well with her, but he tends to be dominant with unfamiliar dogs and would likely do best as the only dog in the home. He walks on a leash but is strong and may pull at first or if he sees a squirrel. After a bit of walking, he settles down, and he even has a funny talent for getting himself untangled from trees. He is crate-trained and has been house-trained, though he may have accidents in new environments until he adjusts. Regular potty breaks or crating while he learns the routine will help him succeed.

Asta is a loving, loyal dog who just wants a home where he can be close to his people.

Swing by the AARF House on Saturdays between 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. to meet our adoptable animals!
