She has been a cherished member of our family, but with a toddler at home, we’ve found that we can no longer give her the environment she truly deserves. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, made only out of love for her and her well-being. <br/><br/>We are looking for a new home where she will be safe, happy, and cherished as much as she has been with us.<br/><br/>Aspen is an intelligent and goofy 7-year-old with a huge heart! She is looking for a calm, structured environment to be her forever home. <br/><br/>Aspen has never met a person she didn’t love and will give you all the affection and cuddles. She loves hanging out outside, long walks, and stimulating puzzle toys! However, she is not a fit for everyone. Aspen needs a home with very experienced owners who have previously worked with resource guarding behaviors and understand responsible use of an e-collar as part of a consistent training plan. She has bitten adults when guarding items that have been stolen.<br/><br/>She recently completed a four week board and train program where she honed her basic commands, as well as learned additonal commands (including place, wait, and free) to curb her resource guarding habits. She has shown great improvement since graduating from the program.<br/><br/>What Aspen Needs in a Home:<br/><br/>1. Experienced dog owners only (preferably with experience in behavior management and/or working breeds)<br/>2. A home with no young children or other pets as she prefers a calm and predictable environment<br/>3. A fenced-in backyard is strongly preferred - she loves her outdoor time and benefits from a safe, enclosed space to roam<br/>4. A structured home that can provide her with routine, mental stimulation, and patience as she settles in.<br/><br/>Aspen is truly an incredible dog! She has the biggest heart and loves to be the center of attention.
