Aspen's Story
Meet Aspen, a ~4-6 year old neutered male mixed breed dog, weighing about 21 lbs!

Aspen was rescued from a bad hoarding case in Kentucky with the other "tree" dogs (Sycamore, Linden, Mahogany, etc.). He has definitely had a traumatic past and is a very shy and nervous boy, but he does warm up with time and patience. He has been with his TN foster for a few months now and she has seen incredible progress since he has been with her. He is looking for a gentle, patient person/people who will give him time to decompress and let him come to them on his own terms.

Aspen is good with other dogs (he does seem to feel more safe/comfortable with other dogs around, so we think he would do best with another dog in the home to show him the ropes). He has not been cat tested, but we feel he would likely be fine with cats. Due to his timid/nervous nature, we think he would do best in a home with no kids or older kids 10+ who know to respect a dog's space. He is still working on leash training, a fenced in yard would be a big plus for him!

Aspen is medically up to date, mostly housebroken (expect accidents first few days while adjusting to a new home/routine, and crate trained). Apply to meet this special boy today!

Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt

Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding!
