Aspen's Story
Aspen is a 3 year old Great Pyrenees mix who truly lives up to the title gentle giant. With his calm soul, sweet eyes, and big fluffy presence, he’s the kind of dog who makes your house feel like home. Aspen weighs 72#.

Aspen is crate trained and house trained, and he does beautifully settling into his crate at night. During the day, he’s mostly chill and laid back… with just one or two daily bursts of zoomies to remind you he’s still young and playful. Aspen doesn’t bark much, but will talk to you if you baby talk to him. It’s adorable!

Aspen is kid friendly, dog friendly, and would love a playful canine buddy. He’s always inviting his foster sister, Lexi, to join him for a game! A secure fenced yard is required, as Aspen enjoys his outdoor time and space to stretch those long legs. Aspen LOVES people and attention also 💜.

Aspen does have a couple of fears we’re working through. Car rides and large staircases can be scary for him. He’s fine with a few steps in and out of the house, but big staircases are a no thank you right now. We truly believe that with gentle training, patience, and positive associations, he’ll continue to gain confidence in both areas.

Aspen doesn’t seem to know commands and his fosters are working on the basics, including leash walking. He does have pretty good house manners though. He doesn’t jump on furniture too much… unless grandpa comes to visit. He can’t help himself around grandpa as he loves him so much! Aspen likes walks, but needs continued leash training. He is strong and pulls a lot.

If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion with a big heart and an even bigger body, Aspen might just be your perfect match. He’s ready to find a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and encouraged as he blossoms into the confident boy we know he can be.

Aspen is neutered, current on vaccines and prevention, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300. To meet Aspen, please submit an application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet.

Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
