Asiago's Story
Meet Asiago, the playful and energetic young husky who’s always ready for fun! This bundle of joy has a ton of enthusiasm, so he absolutely needs a doggie playmate and lots of exercise to keep his spirit soaring. He’s a big fan of playtime and mental challenges, too! Just a heads-up: because of his high prey drive, he’s not the best fit for homes with small dogs or cats.

Asiago is already house and crate trained, which makes him a great addition to any family. He really loves to chase squirrels in the yard, ensuring there’s never a dull moment with him around!

When it comes to his living space, he’ll need a secure 6-foot wooden fence to keep him safe, as he’s quite the little escape artist always on the lookout for his next adventure. Asiago is fantastic with kids and adores all people he meets—though he sometimes gets a bit carried away and may jump up to say hello!

His curious nature sometimes leads him to explore the kitchen, and he has been known to “counter surf” when tasty aromas are in the air. We’re working on that little habit, but it just adds to his charming personality! Overall, Asiago is a lovable and spirited companion who’s sure to bring tons of joy and laughter into your home!

If you are interested in pursuing an adoption and you live in Texas , please complete the application (links provided below). The process includes a vet check, calling references and doing a home visit.

http://www.texassleddogrescue.org/web_documents/tsdr_application.pdf
or
https://www.formstack.com/forms/?1632205-WX2Zb144ZP

Please note the following:
We rarely do out of state adoptions. (Exceptions can be discussed but will be based on previous big dog experience and will require same adoption process.)
Children in the home or that visit often must be at least 6 years of age. (Exceptions can be discussed but will be based on previous big dog experience.)
Adoption donation is due at the time of adoption. Puppies under 1 year are $350. Dogs 1 year to 7 years are $300 and dogs over 7 years are $200. As this is a donation, it will be non-returnable if dog is returned to rescue.
Dogs are not placed on a first come, first serve basis but rather the best home for the dog.
All dogs placed by TSDR will be:
spayed/neutered
vaccinated for distemper/parvo, rabies, and bordetella
heartworm tested and treated if needed
microchipped
other vetting as deemed needed
New owners will receive copies of all available vet information and must agree to keep them current on all of the above.
