Ashley's Story

When Ashley arrived at the Tehachapi Vet Hospital via Kern County Animal Control rig, she was the only dog on board that was breathing--the others had not survived the fire. Fortunately, Ashley was not fenced in or chained-up and she
was able to outrun the flames. She was covered in ash, somewhat singed, suffered some smoke inhalation, but was otherwise none to worse for wear. She has since been given the “spa treatment” at the Vet and is recovering well.
Fleet feet, a tremendous will to live, and an awesome animal control officer saved this young girl's life; it is up to Marley’s Mutts, assisted by the community of Tehachapi, to take over from here and find this girl the loving home that she deserves. Ashley, a 1- to 2-year-old Labrador mix, is a spectacular, young lady with her whole life ahead of her.
