ASHER BLUE's Story
On 1/10/26, a dog was found lying on a hillside across the Clark Bridge in Alton, next to the highway. He wasn’t lifting his head. He wasn’t moving. He was just... laying there. Someone stopped. Someone cared. And that’s how Asher Blue got his chance. Asher Blue is a 2-year-old Staffordshire Terrier who is now in foster care, recovering after surgery to repair a fractured hip from what is suspected to be a hit by car. He also had facial wounds and was sore, scared, and hurting. But even after all of that, he still loves people. He is housetrained, gentle when taking treats, and absolutely loves his humans. He is still learning that he is safe now, and he really looks to his people for comfort and guidance. He doesn’t act tough. He doesn’t act brave. He just wants to be close to someone who makes him feel safe. We don’t know how long he was laying on that hillside. We don’t know how long he was hurting. But we do know he deserves the rest of his life to be soft, safe, and loved. No cats for Asher Blue. Just a home full of patience, kindness, and love. After everything he’s been through, we really hope someone out there is his happy ending.
