About

Health
Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. Asher had his front right leg amputated after a break, we are not sure what the cause of the break was. Asher will need to be on glucosamine for the rest of his life. Amazon sells 250 pills for $60 so this would last him for approx 8 months. (adopter expense) Asher will also need water therapy until his growth plates close. The rescue will be paying for this. Other than that he is a happy, healthy little guy!!.

***************************************
Hello! Asher is 5 months old as of 6/15/19. He is about 95% potty trained, he rarely has an accident inside, and waits at the door to be let out to go potty. He is 100% crate trained. I have always fed my fosters in their crates and he runs in when it’s time to eat and is learning the word “kennel”. He doesn't cry while in his kennel, unless you’re on the same floor as him doing stuff and he’s in it. But at night, he’s totally silent and doesn’t get nervous when you leave. He doesn’t understand the concept of fetch, but neither does my dog so he isn’t any help ? he knows “sit” “no” and “off”. We don’t let our dogs on the furniture and he has finally begun to respect that rule. He wants to play with our cat, but she is not at all interested in wrestling with him. If Asher is outside and sees someone walk down the street, he usually gets up and starts hopping toward them, so he either needs to be leashed while outside or you just have to get in front of him and re-direct him. He doesn’t move too fast so it’s not hard to catch up to him. We had a chihuahua at our house for a week fostering him before he was adopted and Asher loooooved him. He’s really a fabulous dog and I wish we could keep him! But we know another family would be able to provide him a more suitable life than what we could provide. We do a lot of hiking, swimming, running and walking and Asher just can’t keep up. He needs a playful but laid back family. Not a family who expects him to go for long walks or runs.
