His body was covered in painful sores from spending far too long on hard surfaces, and its truly a miracle he survived. <br/><br/>Then everything changed.<br/><br/>He went into a loving foster home, where he discovered soft beds, full meals, kind people, and what it finally feels like to be safe.<br/><br/>Today, Asher is healthy, happy... and still waiting for a forever family.<br/><br/>His foster family loves him dearly, but they know he deserves a home of his very own.<br/><br/>Asher is the kind of dog everyone says theyre looking for. Hes potty trained, crate trained, wonderful with dogs of all sizes, perfect with cats, gentle with chickens, and happiest wandering through the tall grass before coming inside to relax near his people. One of his favorite moments of the day is greeting his foster mom and dad when they get home—his whole face lights up with excitement.<br/><br/>The hardest part?<br/><br/>Theres no reason this sweet boy should still be waiting.<br/><br/>Hes simply been overlooked.<br/><br/>Asher survived when the odds were stacked against him. Now he just needs someone to say, Hes the one.<br/><br/>Hes learned what love is , hes healed, and now he deserves to be chosen. Please share Ashers story and help us find the family that will give him the forever he has waited so patiently for. <br/><br/> 7-year-old Pit Bull mix<br/> Approximately 45 to 50 lbs<br/><br/><br/><br/>ADOPTING A DOG<br/>Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).<br/><br/>If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend.
