Asher's Story
WEEKEND SHELTER HOURS FOR ADOPTIONS:
SATURDAY, APRIL 18: CLOSED (Visit our pet adoption events!)
SUNDAY, APRIL 19: OPEN 10AM - 3PM, NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED!

KCK Animal Services is located at 3301 Park Drive, KCK.

———————

ASHER IS IN A FOSTER HOME. He was underweight at just 39 lbs, worn down, and suffering from painful sores on his front legs after spending far too much time on hard surfaces. It’s truly a miracle he’s still here. But the very next day, everything changed — Asher went into a loving foster home, and that’s when his healing truly began.

Now he’s learning what it means to be safe. To rest on something soft. To hear gentle words. To simply exist without fear. He’s steadily gaining weight, rebuilding his strength, and beginning to trust again. He adores his foster dog siblings, is discovering that cats can be friends, and finds the most comfort in being near his people. Toys aren’t really his thing — he’d much rather be outside, rolling in the grass, soaking up the sunshine, and exploring at his own relaxed speed.

Asher is a slower-paced, gentle guy that’s happiest lounging nearby, keeping you company without needing to be the center of attention — just close enough to know he belongs.

Asher is:
• Potty trained
• Crate trained
• Good with dogs and cats (with a slow, proper introduction)
• Calm, gentle personality

He’s done surviving — now he’s ready to start living. If you’re searching for a loving companion who will treasure every soft bed, every sunny afternoon, and every quiet moment beside you, Asher is ready to give his whole heart.

Asher is a 7-year-old Pit Bull mix, approximately 45–50 lbs.

ADOPTING A DOG
Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).

If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.

We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends.
