Asha 's Story
Meet this special pup, Asha 🐾💛

Coming from a hoarding situation, Asha is understandably nervous and still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. New sights, sounds, and people can feel overwhelming, so she’ll need a patient adopter who will let her move at her own pace as she learns to trust and open up. She may be apprehensive at first, but once she bonds, you truly become her person, and she forms a deep, loyal connection.

Asha is very attentive to sounds and isn’t shy about letting you know when she hears something new. She’s still adjusting to everyday life and is learning about things she’s never experienced before — toys and balls don’t quite make sense to her yet, but she has started to enjoy chewing on bones. She absolutely loves other dogs, especially those who can help show her the ropes. Her foster’s lab has given her a sense of security, and she enjoys rolling in the grass and even engaging in a little playful chase.

She’s discovering life step by step, including walks, where she’s getting better at exploring all the new sights and smells. She can be a bit mischievous with some counter surfing, but that’s simply because she’s still learning household manners. She has never shown any aggression toward people or other dogs, and while she may startle if someone reappears after leaving the room, she responds with caution rather than fear.

Because she’s not used to human touch, gentle and patient introductions are important. Once she realizes you’re safe, she enjoys scratches and little ear rubs. Asha loves cozy spots — the couch, dog beds, and even sharing the bed at night. She’s happy to relax with another dog or lounge independently.

Asha will need all the basic puppy training — potty training, leash skills, household manners, and lots of confidence building. She’s doing well in a fenced yard and has had very few accidents, but she hasn’t yet mastered going potty on leash due to all the distracting new sounds and smells. With time, consistency, and gentle encouragement, she will continue to gain confidence.

These special dogs truly blossom with patience and kindness. If you have a gentle heart, a calm home, and a little extra patience, you’ll be rewarded with a deeply loyal companion who will love you for life. 💛
- Around 7 years old
- Currently under 50lbs
- Good with dogs and cats
- Adoption fee: $100

To inquire about this dog, please email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com.
