Ash's Story

Meet Ash - a big-hearted boy looking for a fresh start. At 3.5 years old, this handsome black Lab/Shepherd mix weighs in at 95 pounds of love, loyalty, and companionship.

Ash's story is one of love, not abandonment. He wasn't surrendered because he was unwanted - far from it. His former mom became ill and could no longer give him the care and active life he deserves. Wanting only the best for him, she made the heartbreaking and selfless decision to help Ash find a new family who can give him the future she wanted for him.

This gentle giant is affectionate, well-mannered, and ready to be someone's very best friend. While Ash is a strong boy, he has been trained to walk nicely on a gentle leader harness and does very well with it. He's the kind of dog who turns heads with his good looks, then wins hearts with his sweet personality.

Ash seems to do well around other dogs, cats and we understand he likes kids also, making him a wonderful candidate for many different types of homes.

He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped - all he needs now is a loving family to call his own.

If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion with a heart as big as he is, Ash may be the missing piece of your family.

Heal Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
If you are interested in any of our adoptable animals, please call or email the shelter at 724-925-2555 or info@healanimalrescue.org to schedule a time for a meet and greet with the animal of which you are interested. You will also need to fill out an adoption application. Our shelter staff and adoption counselors will review your information to see if you are a good match for the pet you have selected. Please allow yourself about an hour to have the proper time to spend with an adoption counselor to discuss the responsibility of owning your specific pet and making a lifetime commitment. Please remember our number one goal and priority is finding FOREVER homes for the dogs and cats in our care and matching the right pet with the right home environment. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption. Some pets receive multiple applications and we do our best to sort through to find the absolute best match possible.
