Ash's Story

Meet Ash – A Sweet Boy Still Waiting After Two Years

Location: Princeton, MN

DOB: 01/17/2018 (estimated)

Ash has been in rescue care for over two years, patiently waiting for someone to take a chance on him and offer the forever home he deserves. He is a gentle, affectionate Great Dane with a calm presence and a deeply loyal heart once he feels safe.

Ash has worked hard during his time in care. He has learned good manners, improved his leash-walking skills, and responds well to the “leave it” command. On walks, he is relaxed and curious, enjoying his surroundings while remaining focused, even around people and bicycles—especially when treats are involved.
Outdoors, Ash is social and easygoing. Indoors, he may take some time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he forms a strong bond and gives his whole heart. He enjoys quiet companionship and loves to cuddle. Ash does very well when left alone, able to handle 6–8 hours with a consistent routine. He is not destructive and does not counter-surf; he simply waits calmly for his people to return.

Ash enjoys playtime, particularly games of chase and keep-away. Fetch is still a work in progress, but companionship matters far more to him than toys. He thrives in the company of another dog and would do best in a home with a canine companion. Cats are untested.

He can be cautious with new faces in the home and may offer a low growl as a form of communication, never aggression. This is simply Ash expressing himself while he learns to trust. Once he feels secure, his loyalty and affection are unwavering.

Ash would do best in a peaceful home with a yard, where he can relax and enjoy a calm environment. He does not need a busy or chaotic household—just patience, understanding, and someone willing to see past the fact that he has waited longer than most.

Ash is not broken. He is not difficult. He is simply a wonderful dog who has been overlooked.

All of our Great Danes are altered (if medically possible), fully vetted, microchipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to adoption.

If you are looking for a loyal, gentle companion and are willing to give a deserving dog a chance, Ash is ready to meet you.

For adoption applications, donations, and additional information, please visit:
https://linktr.ee/Srgdrr
