Can you say HANDSOME!? He is just as sweet as can be. Ash has all the hallmark wonderful qualities of both breeds. He is easy going, loyal, and wants to please, but with these two breeds comes a strong desire to work and protect. Ash has been down on his luck with finding the perfect home, which has lead to inconsistent training.
Herding and Working dogs need to learn control and when it is time to work. Ash has been moved around so much he hasn't gotten that training - so he gets over excited at the Pesky Garbage Truck! and other things out of his control. With consistency, patience, and obedience training he will make such a loyal and fun companion.
Things to know about Ash:
- Ash would do best with a fully fenced yard for him to train in. He needs a home that will work with him daily - walks, enrichment, training. He's an active boy with a busy mind. These types of dogs are more work, but are also super rewarding! He would even love to have a job to do!
- He needs slow introductions to other dogs. He would do best with a non-dominant male or a female dog companion. He is more of a ladies’ man!
- He is the sweetest boy. He loves kids but may do best in a home without small kids to start. Ash feels the need to herd children.
- Heart of Michigan BMD Rescue will keep him as a Foster-To-Adopt dog to start and help his new family with training resources.
- Ash can live in a farm-like setting but needs a home with no small animals. He has a very high prey drive and can’t be trusted with them until he has more training.
Ash is neutered, chipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. If you can give this goober a forever home, please fill out an application. He is currently located near Greenfield, WI and you must travel to his current foster home for a meet and greet and to pick him up.

If you are interested in Ash please fill out his adoption application here - https://app.sparkie.io/application?t=5c170feb96c080000420478c&m=DOG_ADOPT&a=60d90da01f216e002b204099
