Ash's Story

This sweet baby boy is ASH and he's a super affectionate 5 month old Lab & Staffie mix lovebug who never misses a chance for snuggles. He weighs 30 pounds although his pics make him look bigger. He's a very happy boy & the second you crouch down, he’ll come over for hugs and kisses. Ash is a calm boy and has such good manners and knows to stays on all four paws. This sweet boy loves everyone he meets and playing with other dogs too. He even gets along with cats which makes him a perfect pup! Ash loves to play with his toys and is a really good listener who has already learned good recall skills. He loves being with his Foster family and with any furry friends that want to play. Snuggle with him and he will keep you warm as you lay on the couch to watch a good movie or just take a short nap.

Ash is also a pro in the car—he hops right in, settles down, and loves going on adventures. He is confident in new places and quick to warm up to new people. He’s the kind of boy who would love tagging along on family outings, hikes, or even just a quick trip to visit a friend. He's super healthy, crate trained and is house trained so can be trusted to roam freely in the house but with new places might need a refresher and time to settle back in.

This fun and beautiful puppy won't last long!!! Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get lots more info, pics and videos of this sweet puppy!

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
