Artemis/Adoption Pending

Artemis came into our care after spending over 5 months at Animal Control. Her original owner had gone to jail, leaving behind his three female dogs, who were littermates. We took in her two sisters in early May, but sadly we didn't have room to take all three pups. We placed her sisters, Mallomar and Biscotti, in great homes where they are thriving, so when we learned Artemis was still in need of a home, we knew we had to figure out how to take her in even though the Shelter is closed for renovations. Luckily, one of our best dog volunteers offered to foster her, and she is so happy to be back in a home environment. She loves to play with other dogs and has a lot of energy to burn. She is approximately 16 months old and currently weighs 40 lbs., but is underweight. She is spayed and has had all of her vet care, so all she needs now is a loving home.<br/><br/>The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application here: medfieldshelter.com/adopt<br/><br/>If a dog is listed on our website, it is still available for adoption; however, there may be applications ahead of yours. We typically receive many applications for every dog we post. All adoption meetings are by appointment.<br/><br/>Our dog adoption fee is $450 for dogs aged seven months to seven years old, and $250 for dogs aged eight years and older. Every dog we place receives age-appropriate vaccines, is treated for worms, ticks, and fleas, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and spayed or neutered before adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog in our care.<br/><br/>With few exceptions, dogs are happiest and well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families willing to commit to both.
