Artemis's Story

Named after one of humanity's most ambitious journeys into the unknown, Artemis is a dog who understands better than most what it means to navigate an uncertain world with quiet courage.
She was found on the side of the road alongside her brother and another dog, with no one ever coming to claim them. Through no fault of her own she ended up waiting at the shelter, patient and sweet and hoping someone would finally stop and see her for the gem she truly is.
Artemis is gentle, soft, and deeply loving once she finds her footing. She is naturally shy and takes a little time to warm up to new people and new situations — but that caution comes from a girl who has learned to be careful with her trust, and when she gives it to you it means everything. She loves sleeping, she loves cuddles, and she has a quiet, tender presence that settles over a room like a warm blanket.
This beautiful lab mix girl is fully potty trained, housebroken, and completely healthy. She does wonderfully with other animals once she finds her comfort zone, and she will get there — she just needs someone willing to give her the grace and patience to do it on her own terms.
Artemis has already survived being overlooked once. She deserves someone who finally chooses her — and when they do, she will spend the rest of her life being grateful for it.
She has been waiting long enough.
