Armadillo's Story

Armadillo is a shepherd mix that LOVES cuddles and kisses. This girl is hella smart! A local trainer noted Armi's attention to detail aka "ball drive," and went through quite a bit of training to be considered for TSA or K-9 work. Turns out Armi wasn't down for on-call or 9-5 work and prefers to be a independent contractor. She just couldn't bear the thought of anything interrupting zoomie time with her foster brother.
With that said, she is still best suited for a forever home of one of 3 types....
1. Retired canine military personnel
2. K-9 Law Enforcement Officer that understands her drive
3. An active family with a big yard, no other pets and a LOT of throw toys.
Or just someone who understands.
She is truly an amazing dog. Please consider the girl.
*Long distance adoptions may be considered for the right person. This kiddo is current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. Current on heartworm preventative and flea preventative.

If you are interested in a meeting, please complete a Dog Adoption Application at www.petadoptionservices.org/forms

Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish).

** Local adoptions preferred (within Greater New Orleans area and surrounding parishes). Pet Adoption Services Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Our foster animals live in the homes of our volunteers. This gives us the opportunity to observe their behavior in a home setting and identify any issues that may need to be addressed. Our foster parents are located throughout the metro New Orleans area. Since our animals are fostered in private homes, we ask that a brief online application be completed prior to meeting the pet. This is done for the safety of our volunteers and to ensure that the pet is a match for your home and to allow us to offer further recommendations. Once you are approved for a pet, a meeting will be arranged in the home of the foster parent. If the pet is a match, he or she will go home with you on a foster-to-adopt basis for approximately a month. This allows you to make sure that the pet is a good fit for you home.
