Aristotle's Story

Meet Aristotle! This very special approximately 4-year-old boy is looking for a special home to call his own! He was found as a stray and is very timid with people. He has opened up A LOT to his foster family and loves to give kisses and cuddles, but new people and environments are still a struggle for him, and he will require an owner to have patience with him. He can and will go over a 6-foot fence, so he will need to be on a leash when outside. He is very much a husky in so many ways - independent, silly, and stubborn :) He is very dog friendly, and we will require him to go to a home with a confident dog that he can learn from. He gets excited to see cats, must mostly ignores them after the initial excitement wears off. We are working on house and crate training and he has been doing wonderfully, but he is very used to wearing a male wrap if needed.

Aristotle's adoption fee is $100 and he will come fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee also includes a one-time training consultation with our training partner, It's a Breeze Dog Training, to help integrate him into your home!

Interested in meeting Aristotle? Helping Paws, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
We are only able to adopt to families who reside in Indiana at this time. We have approved volunteers in this state only, who are able to support our adoption process and travel within 100 miles of Indianapolis. A completed application is required to initiate the adoption process. Remember to complete the entire application; leaving blanks will only delay the process. If you rent, please include landlords name and phone number. Also, please include your vets phone number, not just their name. The application is free to submit. Our Adoption Process The steps in our adoption process are outlined below. Our adoption process is slow and serious. We are dedicated to finding the RIGHT home for all of our dogs, so we are diligent and take our time. It is not a first come, first serve scenario. 1. You complete an Adoption Application and submit it to us. You can view our available foster dogs here. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the adoption application is the first step. Because we are volunteer only and do not have a facility, an approved application is required before we can move forward with any meet and greets. 2. Our adoption team will process your application by contacting your veterinarian and personal references. 3. If things progress appropriately and your application is approved, we will set up a meet and greet with the dog and do a home visit at that time. 4. If the home visit goes well, we will move forward with when the dog will come and stay. With dogs over 6 months old or puppies with special needs, we do offer trial adoptions where you are able to see how the dog fits into your family before finalizing the adoption. *Please note that cats and pets adopted outside of the Indianapolis metro area do not qualify for trial adoptions. 5. Before finalizing the adoption, you will need to pay the adoption fee. Adoption fees vary from dog to do and will be listed on their individual bios. 6. Upon finalizing the adoption of your new family member, you will need to sign HP’s adoption contract which will be provided to you at the finalization.
