Like a lot of ex commercial breeder dogs she started out not wanting to go to the bathroom outside at all. For 2 days we carried her in & out & she finally figured it out! She actually gave a little bark to go out yesterday! Two accidents in the house only. Impressive!
We are teaching her stairs, no problem going up, it's the scary going down part we need to overcome. There's only 4 steps. lol She likes stuffed toys, her neck scratched all over, being sung to (Allman Brothers seem to be her favorite lol), is very chill with my cattle dog & is a sweetie. Her tail went from under her to up & wagging! Can't wait to see her progress in the next 5 days! She is ready for her new home.

2/11/26-Ari is such a good girl I let her have free range the house when I'm at work and she does great. Although she mostly sleeps on her dog bed (have cameras in the house to watch) but she is still recovering from her spay.

2/10/26-No more babies for this girly. Ari Winter did great with her spay and is back home and resting. She will be ready for her new home in a few days.

2/5/26-Ari Winter had her pre-spay appointment today & all went well. They said her leg wouldn't cause any pain, maybe just be a little discomfort. There is nothing needed to be done with her leg either this time.
They'll also pluck her ears when she gets spay because her ears are so full of hair.

2/3/26-Ari Winter is settling in well, albeit only a few days in. As anticipated, she exhibits considerable nervousness right now. Handling her is challenging due to her aversion to being touched or held, which causes her noticeable trembling. Outdoor house training is ongoing, as she remains uncertain about the procedures. Fortunately, she is utilizing puppy pads indoors. Interactions with my 3-year-old grandson and the household cat have been satisfactory. Ari is consuming food and water adequately and has been resting extensively . Overall she is doing great .

01/30/26-Ari Winter is a sweet but chunky 3 year old female bichon frise. She came into from a commercial breeder as they just didn’t need her anymore. She arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to her transport volunteers. She has a luxating patella in her left rear leg (like a “trick knee”). This is probably why she walks a little funny, plus she is about 2 lbs overweight which after she gets in better shape will help her too. Her pre-spay appointment is next Thursday 2/5 & her spay is on Monday 2/9. Once she is spayed & we get to know her better she will be ready to go to her new home.
