ARI's Story

We take the time to post pertinent information about our dogs and that information can be found below. Our dogs are fostered in homes so we know them well. The application form is found under Adoptable Dogs - Adoption Process at www.enchantmutts.org. When the application is complete - you can submit it to info@enchantmutts.org. We will ONLY contact you when the application has been reviewed and you fit the criteria outlined in the bio below. Thank you.

Meet ARI: part terror, part roadrunner and part gremlin, all-in-all she is 100% Airedale with a heart of gold and a nose for getting into trouble. She was born sometime in September of 2025 and currently weighs in at 33 lbs - she has a bit of growing left to do – up to 55 or 60 lbs.

ARI comes with a typical Airedale personality. She is delightful, happy go lucky and has a very special air about her and her foster adores her. She is ALL puppy – that means she is into everything, every minute and goes everywhere and has a blast while she does it. She knows she isn’t supposed to run off with your shoes, but if she can she will try – that’s on you for leaving them where she can find them. Just remember – if it fits in her mouth… those razor sharp puppy daggers are coming for it all!

ARI has mastered crate training, house training (with a doggie door), planting and some manners (note some…). Like her breed traits, ARI comes with some stubbornness, mouthiness, a bit of an independent streak, great affection and a love of all things she can get away with – her ancestors could hunt all day long and then guard the family and fortress at night. She is incredibly smart, picks up things very quickly, especially if treats are involved and loves her training – she is always ready to prove she is worthy of everything! She is extremely outgoing and knows no strangers – truly a love muffin with curly hair. She does have a nice off switch and enjoys her cuddle time after keeping busy all day long.

ARI loves to play and she is great with the other dogs in the house and especially likes to play rough and tumble with her foster siblings who also enjoy it, she will need a canine playmate that is able to keep up with her shenanigans and put her in her place if necessary. She loves any and all toys or anything that resembles toys… She is learning to be respectful with the older dogs in the house and learning that NO means NO and she easily goes off to find other adventures.
Ari will steal your heart (and your socks)… and she needs a family who has experience with Airedales, the patience of a saint, a great sense of humor and who is of strong mind and heart. She will test you. She will make you wonder why you a) considered an Airedale and 2) wanted a puppy. No kids under ten, they would be hard put to ward off her jumps of joy and dagger teeth. Her family will continue her training and give her everything she deserves – and she in return will bring much joy and laughter.

ARI is vaccinated, wormed, micro chipped, on heartworm preventative and will adopted with a puppy contract after our complete adoption process is concluded. She will be spayed (paid for at adoption) at the appropriate time for her breed standard – (roughly ten months) – we will set her appointment. She came into rescue with one slightly recessed eye. She has full sight, the eye is healthy and when she is spayed we will also do a surgical correction (entropion) to avoid possible issues in her future.

So if you are up for adventure, know and love Airedales, are ready for a puppy to rule your life for the next two or three years and think you might be able to handle this fabulous girl and offer her the world – please complete an application on our website (enchantmutts.org) and submit it to info@enchantmutts.org. Sorry – we do NOT adopt out of the state of New Mexico.

EnchantMutts, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
NOTE: We do NOT adopt our animals out of the State of New Mexico. Prior to adoption (special accommodations can be made for puppies** and certain circumstances), all of our dogs are: * spayed or neutered* * vaccinated * heartworm and tick borne illness tested and on preventative * microchipped * dewormed and tested for tick borne diseases * given necessary medical treatment if needed while in our care - including surgery, blood panels, aides, if needed and on a case-by-case basis. All known health information that we are aware of is divulged on our animals *Well-loved in foster homes where they receive premium care and basic training. **Depending on their age at adoption, puppies will require follow-up care after adoption (spay/neuter, additional vaccinations) - we do not spay or neuter puppies until they are a minimum of six (6) months old and adopters will adhere to our puppy contracts. Adoption Process: We are dedicated to finding the best matches for both our animals and adoptive families. We spent time getting to know the animals in our care during the foster period so we are very much aware of the most compatible homes for them based on their personalities and their needs. We follow a specific adoption process. Here are the steps required to adopt a dog: * complete and submit an adoption application (found below) * you will be contacted to discuss the dog/cat you are interested in and we will talk about the possible fit and review your application with you * if it seems as it would be a good fit, we will have you meet the dog * a mandatory home visit will be made * references will be contacted * if there are existing animals in the home, introductions will be arranged to ensure compatibility prior to any sleepover or adoption * sleepover (yes - we pack their overnight bags for a test drive to make sure it is a fit) contract is required to adopt * must be 21 to adopt Adoption Fees: dogs: up to $300 seniors: adoption fees for our seniors are on a case by case basis - normally there is no adoption fee but we fully expect their families to continue the regiment of supplements and care predetermined for the dog to allow them to live full and happy lives for the time they have left. Notes: It is very seldom that we adopt our dogs into a single animal home and puppies will only go to homes that have another suitable dog in the home. We believe that dogs are pack animals and they need canine companionship as well as human companionship. Due to the dog breeds we tend to work with - working dogs - they will require homes with fully fenced yards and apartments are not a good fit. Ready to get started? If you are interested in one of our animals for adoption, please fill out an adoption application found on our website - www.enchantmutts.org. Email the completed application to the contact person listed in the animal's description. If no email address is listed, please send the application to info@enchantmutts.org. Please note that completion of an application does not guarantee adoption of a pet - we focus completely on the right home for the animal and for the family. You must be at least 21 years of age to apply for or adopt an animal
