Thank you!<br/><br/><br/>Archie is an 8 year old snuggly boy. He weighs only 9 pounds and is trying to bulk up to 10 pounds! There is nothing he likes better than to be sitting next to you or on your lap, and much of that time is giving you kisses! He has mastered leash walking now and loves to stop along the way to just look at everything in the neighborhood. He is used to walking 3 times a day for several blocks and has learned that outside is where he goes potty….although there may be an accident in the house until a routine is established.<br/><br/>He greets other dogs easily and but just does his own thing. Everybody he meets is his friend, but he will always prefer you!<br/><br/><br/>At night you will enjoy his companionship in your bed as he snuggles up next to you to sleep throughout the night, or he could be fine next to your bed in his own cuddle bed (which will come with him!). Throughout the day Archie sleeps in his bed and is not a dog who will play with toys or people. He has never learned how, and that behavior will likely not change. He will bark when you leave or come home after being gone a couple of hours, but quickly quiets when you say, “Archie, no bark”.<br/><br/><br/>When he was neutered he also had his teeth cleaned and almost all of them had to be extracted because they were infected and broken off at the gum line. Despite that he has a great appetite and eats his soft food with enthusiasm! He also likes a soft treat or dried chicken as a treat when his foster mom leaves, or when he goes potty outside.<br/><br/>Overall, Archie is a quiet, easy dog to love on and care for. He is sweet and affectionate little guy who deserves the very best forever home.<br/><br/><br/>His new home must meet these criteria:<br/><br/>· Be willing to continue with his established routine for exercise and housetraining.<br/><br/>· Be home most of the day or at least be gone no more than 3-4 hours at a time<br/><br/>· No kenneling!<br/><br/>· A fenced yard is not necessary, but the owner must be outside with him, and Archie must be in a harness and leash at all times---he will run off!<br/><br/>· Older, respectful children would be okay.<br/><br/>· A home with very few stairs as he does not go up and down them on his own. He must be carried up and down.<br/><br/>· Live within 40 miles of Bloomington , MN<br/><br/>· Be committed to attend our Rescue Reunion in September each year.<br/><br/><br/>Archie is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. His adoption fee is $320.00 plus $28.88 sales tax for a total of $348.88.<br/><br/><br/>To meet Archie, please complete an adoption application at the website listed in the first paragraph.
