Archie *CL's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Renee (renees@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet.

Archie is approximately 2 years old and 40 pounds. He is a black lab mix, house and kennel trained. He will whine and walk to the door if he needs to go out. Archie enjoys walks and does well on a leash. He is very smart and knows many commands as well as sit and stay while he waits to be released for his food bowl. He will "go to bed" in his kennel with no issues and does so anytime the human leaves as well as overnight. He is current on shots, neutered and microchipped. He does not chew on furniture, but he is very curious and will steal any items he thinks are for him (pens, socks, towels etc). He loves his toys and likes to play fetch and tug of war. He is playful and mild mannered. Archie plays well with other dogs and enjoys his 10yr old human. Archie is hesitant meeting new people but is not aggressive; he will bark and shake then he chooses to hide until he feels safe. Because he is so friendly with his family and other people in the apartment complex, we believe he can overcome this fear with training and exposure to one positive interaction at a time. Archie is energetic and the current home situation is not ideal for his exercise needs. Archie needs another loving family with patience, understanding and a fenced yard. He would likely benefit from having a dog-sibling as well or canine friends to play with often. *Archie has tested positive for heartworms and treatment is being planned.

The animal listed on this page was listed as a courtesy to help find the animal a home.
