Archie's Story

🐾 Meet Archie: Big Ears, Big Personality, Lots of Homework! 🐾

Archie is about a year old, and his breed is best described as Mystery Mix. We may never know exactly what went into making this compact little guy, but whoever mixed up the recipe definitely added an extra scoop of BAT EARS and personality. 😂

Archie is also a bit of a diamond in the rough. As far as we can tell, he came to CHA with very little--if any--basic training under his belt. But here's the exciting part: this boy is SMART. In the short time we've had him, he's already making fast and impressive progress with basic commands, recall, and--perhaps most importantly--his leash manners.

He absolutely LOVES people and gets SO excited when someone wants to give him attention. And when it comes to puzzle games, Archie is all in. He loves having to use his brain and will happily take on a challenge. His future family is going to have a lot of fun discovering all the clever little quirks hiding underneath those giant ears. 🥹

Archie is definitely going to need a family who is willing to put in the time and effort to continue his training. He's not a "bring him home and he magically knows everything" kind of dog. He's more of a "bring me home, teach me things, and watch me turn into an awesome dog" kind of dog.

Everyone here thinks Archie is pretty darn special, and we're excited to see him continue to grow into the goofy, smart, affectionate dog we know he can be. If you're looking for a dog who will keep you laughing, keep your brain busy, and give you plenty of opportunities to celebrate those little training victories, Archie might be your guy.

Big ears. Compact body. Huge personality. Currently accepting applications for a forever teacher, playmate, and best friend. ❤️All cats and dogs adopted from the Chequamegon Humane Association are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. Dogs are tested for heartworm. A minimum adoption fee of $185 is required for adult dogs, puppy adoption fees start $300, and dogs over the age of 10 are $100. Adult cat adoption fees are $85, kittens under one year are $135, and cats over the age of 10 are $50.
