Archie's Story
Archie is a special boy. He was pulled from a county shelter after being labeled "rescue only" due to his temperament. Archie is friendly with our volunteers until we make him do something he doesn't want to do. When being vaccinated, we do have to sedate him so we are able to handle him.

Archie has the cutest face and so much love to give but will need a chihuahua savvy owner who is experienced in "working around" quirks like this. We will require a fenced yard for Archie as his new family will not be able to leash/harness him right away. We expect him to be quick to potty train. He doesn't seem to like many men so a female household will be best for him. Due to his temperament, he cannot go into a home with children.

*House-Trained/Potty Trained: Please note that this pet currently lives in a shelter environment. Most of our pets come to us with no history. We believe this pet is house-trained or very close to being house-trained, but we cannot say for certain. Any new rescue pet will likely have accidents in the first few days or weeks as they learn their new environment and begin to understand their new schedule. If being house-trained upon adoption is a deal breaker for you or if you aren’t willing to give your new pet grace during this transition period, this may not be the pet for you and we would recommend searching for a pet that is in a foster home where you have more feedback on their habits in a home.

If you are interested in meeting Archie, please submit an application on our website at https://www.rainingcatsanddogsshelter.com/adoption. Our adoption coordinator will reach out to you by email once the application is processed. If you have questions in the meantime, please email the adoption coordinator at rainingcatsanddogsvolunteer@gmail.com

Our team is 100% volunteer based and many of our volunteers have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience with us as we process your application. Thanks for looking and we hope to be able to match you with your next fur baby!
