Please meet ARCHIE! <br/><br/>who could resist this face? <br/><br/>While ADR.org usually rescues from high Kill Shelters in CA, this fellow caught ADR.org's eye and heart.<br/><br/>ARCHIE came to ADR.org through a cooperation with the Humane Society in Bend, OR.<br/>ARCHIE’s prior owner was admitted to the hospital sometime in December and unfortunately died in hospital care. <br/>First the neighbors were feeding ARCHIE while he was mostly outside alone- missing his owner. As this was not a sustainable situation and ARCHIE was not doing well, the decision was to bring him to the local shelter- as there was no further plan.<br/><br/><br/>ARCHIE is an 8 yr. old Pure-Bred cream-colored Chow, brings about 60lbs to the scale. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations.<br/><br/>ARCHIE needs to have easy access to a well-secured garden/yard. He knows the purpose of a DOGGY DOOR. <br/>He had bloodwork and urinalysis done while with ADER.org which came back with no vet concerns.<br/> <br/>He is alert with other dogs, not reactive but selective. ADR.org thinks that having him as only dog might be the easiest on ARCHIE. We do not know how he is with cats.<br/><br/>ARCHIE was shaved down at the shelter as he was so matted, and his fluffy fur has been growing back wonderfully.<br/><br/>ARCHIE is a stoic fellow that LOVES to walk and get his sniffs outside in the forest, and he takes his time. He rarely barks but can get very alert when he thinks that there is “danger.” <br/>Having a caring and dedicated home for the rest of his life, a comfortable dog bed and continued good nutrition would make this fellow happy. He is crate trained and rests and waits there patiently. He lives for his walks and food (best time ever for him - he told me).<br/>ARCHIE is a delightful corky fellow and ADR.org is looking for a home that pampers him, has calm energy, and tends to his needs. <br/>If you would like to hear and see more of him (photos/videos), please contact the founder by sending an email to: ADR@animaldefenserescue.org and tell us a bit about yourself and why you would love to meet/adopt ARCHIE.
