When he was found as a stray, his coat was terribly matted and he clearly hadn’t been cared for in quite some time. Thankfully, those days are behind him now. After a much-needed grooming, Arcade is feeling so much better and his beautiful poodle coat is starting to shine again.<br/><br/>Despite everything he has been through, Arcade has remained incredibly kind and gentle with everyone he meets. He has a soft, affectionate personality and seems happy just to be near people who show him a little love. At around 20 pounds, he is a perfect medium size—big enough for adventures but small enough to curl up comfortably by your side.<br/><br/>Arcade is now ready to leave his past behind and start the next chapter of his life with a family of his own. With a little love, patience, and a warm home, this sweet boy is sure to blossom into a wonderful companion.<br/><br/>Arcade has already come such a long way, and we can’t wait to see how bright his future will be.<br/><br/>Update from Arcade's week away... (3/23) <br/><br/>Thought you might like an update on Arcade for his PetFinder profile:<br/><br/>Arcade is a natural in a home. He is a good boy and totally knows how to be a dog. Here are some of his qualities:<br/><br/>🐾 Things he loves: snuggling, going for walks, playing fetch, eating (anything!), watching out the window, a good nap in a cozy spot close to his human.<br/><br/>🐾 Knows the “sit” command and seems to know “stay.” We’re working on “lie down.”<br/><br/>🐾 Potty trained. 🥳<br/><br/>🐾 Great in the car.<br/><br/>🐾 Sleeps through the night on the bed with me. He stays in “his” spot.<br/><br/>🐾 Wakes up happy. He gets really excited and gives kisses and snuggles when he sees that I’m awake and getting up.<br/><br/>🐾 Leans in for pets and nudges me for more if I stop petting him.<br/><br/>🐾 Gentle with food and toys.<br/><br/>🐾 Totally fine for a bath.<br/><br/>🐾 Lets me brush his teeth!<br/><br/>🐾 Did not like it when I left the house to run an errand, but tolerated it by barking and watching out the window. He was not destructive and had no accidents. He was ok for the first few minutes with a chew treat. I have a feeling a Kong filled with frozen yums might work well for him.<br/><br/>🐾 Arcade seemed to think my neighbor’s cat was a toy. He pounced, did his gentle play “bite” (not vicious), bowed to her with his happy, waggy tail in the air, and nudged the kitty to try to get her to play. Arcade will likely need a little training with cats.<br/><br/>🐾 Interested, but not reactive to other people or dogs on our walks. He loves when people come up to pet him. He sits on their feet and enjoys every second of the attention. <br/><br/>So, my impression of Arcade is that he’s kinda perfect!
