April's Story

April is a 6-year-old Labrador mix weighing about 50 lbs, and she has been patiently waiting over 4 years (1,466 days) for her forever home with the SPCA of East Texas.

She is completely housebroken, knows how to use a doggy door, and is trusted to free roam the home when left alone. April currently lives in a foster home with other dogs and a cat and does wonderfully with both. She is very social, submissive with other dogs, and would thrive best in a home with another canine companion—she would not do well as an only dog.

April is sweet and a bit shy when first meeting new people, but she warms up quickly and forms strong bonds. She walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is very well-mannered during vet visits. She does best with a fenced yard and will need supervision when outside.

If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, and easygoing companion who fits seamlessly into a multi-dog home, April truly is the total package.

Apply to adopt at www.spcaeasttx.com
