Karrington Kare Rescue's Adoption Policy
At Karrington Kare Rescue, our goal is to place every animal in a loving, safe, and permanent home. To ensure the best match between pet and adopter, we’ve developed the following policies: 1. Application Process All potential adopters must complete our Adoption Application. Applications are reviewed on a first qualified, best fit basis—not first-come, first-served. We reserve the right to deny any application at our discretion. 2. Requirements for Adoption Adopters must be at least 21 years old. All current pets must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines. Renters must provide written landlord approval for pet ownership. A home check or virtual home tour may be required before final approval. Adopters must agree to keep the pet as an indoor companion (unless otherwise specified). 3. Meet & Greets Meet & greets are arranged by appointment only after application approval. All household members (including current dogs, if applicable) must be present during the meet. 4. Adoption Fees Adoption fees vary by animal and help cover spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and medical care. Fees are non-refundable but may be credited toward a future adoption under certain conditions. 5. Trial Periods & Returns Some adoptions may include a 2-week trial period (“foster-to-adopt”) to ensure a good match. If an adopter is unable to keep the pet, the animal must be returned to Karrington Kare Rescue. No rehoming is allowed without our approval. 6. Post-Adoption Support We offer ongoing support and guidance to all adopters. We may follow up periodically to check in on the pet’s well-being. 7. Lifetime Commitment Adoption is a lifelong commitment. We ask that all adopters be prepared for the responsibility of caring for their pet for its entire life.
